the boy with the birds (IF "linked")

I linked quite few things in that image. Obviously the birds and the girls are linked. What actually links the girls apart from the birds to the boy feeding them is up to your imagination.

I mixed digital with coloured pencil this week. Just trying out different things. The image surely could need some more work, but I thought I post it now, as not to be as late as last week.
Comments are always welcome.

  2. Maria, this is so interesting! I love the color palette being fairly monochromatic, and the pyramids make me think this is a Mesoamerican scene. I love things that look like "history" but feel like real, little moments. A nice, tranquil piece!

Thanks for feedback on my "Linked" sketch. I'm looking forward toward seeing if it turns into something more—

  3. thanks for posting the close-up, Maria!

I just checked out your demo reel — nice! I especially liked the guy waking with a start in bed, the running gal and those hilarious snails!

I'll def. look for something we can animate together! I've got a few projects in mind—

  6. Oh NO, it doesn't need anything more. The children are adorable, and their colors make them the focus. This is wonderful! What a great setting, and there must be some fascinating story behind all this -- where they are and why the birds are linked like that.
